Poem: Problem Solver "2+2"

I just want to be your problem solver.
Giving you "4" when all you see is "2+2"
I've seen your situations try and bury you.
And people telling you what when all you need is someone to do.
Let me be your lever,
And you can be my fulcrum.
I'll bring the pulley,
If you can supply the rope.
I hear your division hasn't been done right in a while...
Let me be your denominator and you my numerator,
I've got several places,
We can carry the remainder.
Let me be the geometry,
That fills your Non-Euclidean Space.
Everyone else may offer an educated guess,
But I know all the answers to your multiple choice test.
Can I be the orthotic that supports the arch of your weary foot?
Someone you can trust your weight on?
I'll upgrade your computer,
Let me be your CPU(Constant Pleasure Unit).

See I have several of the answers,
To several of your questions.
I don't have every answer,
But I think I'm missing just a few...
I'm standing here with “4”
And I see you standing there with “2+2”

Lips to my cheek(Poem)

Lips to my cheek,
The warmth penetrates the ever-vigilant cold that persists to protect the depths of my soul.
I am unable to mount an adequate response.
I am…touched.
Silence reassures the difficulty in the words I might dare say,
This warm moment settles around my shoulders,
Reaching for a closeness time and distance has made alien to me.
Civil romance blurs the line between first and last chances,
And this warmth dances to the rhythm of a heart all too eager to try again.
I close my eyes,
Again the light is becoming too much to take in.
Again,
Bright, vivid colors of a future where moments thirst for our glory.
This is the story,
Of a kiss.

A Jade Breeze(Poem)

I’ve travelled far,
And walked under a jealous sun,
And envious stars,
Holding my breath for a jade breeze.
Not a golden gust,
Or glimmering wind,
But soothing, gentle, and firm gorgeous gales,
Carrying poetic particles of moon-dust,
A granule of lust,
And the gentle hope that tells you in whom to trust.
I find my senses overwhelmed,
Being touched by such untouchable beauty.
Each swirl caresses my face,
And the aroma of perfection quickens my heart’s pace.
Dare I…
Extend my tongue in a moment of passion,
As a boy in a rainstorm,
Savoring each drop in joyful fashion…
And while these moments are rare,
And the prude would ration,
I dare not let time or tomorrow be a distraction.
As I’ve waited too long,
To catch wind,
Of a jade breeze.

You taste like the sun(Poem)

I can't touch the sun,
but I can taste traces of it in your skin.
From the soft warmth where all kisses begin,
My lips tingle with the afterglow of you.
I lick them,
resetting for another approach,
That subtle salty bliss,
Quietly crisp,
My lips search for the shadows,
of a pleasant sunset,
Cooled by an autumn breeze.
Heaven,
I believe,
for the moment is found where my lips touch your skin.

Armor Bearer Part 1(Poem)

When war is the expectation,
Armor is a necessity.
My breastplate is heavy,
and my arms grow tired from the weight of my shield.
The burden of my chainmail is tiresome.
Yet without, how can I live in a world that demands soldiers instead of the compassionate?
I hear arrows,
and I see swords.
I smell blackpowder as cannonballs rain down from above.
The battle is all around.
Allies fight only when their interest is served.
Sadly,
Humanity is never the interest...
While I only have reason to fight,
I wear my armor.
For now,
I bear my own armor.

Adulterated Faith(Sunday School Lesson)

Adulterated Faith

Explain how in a meat market contamination between different types of meat is against health code because each meat requires different cooking directions.

Establish the symbolism between slavery to Egypt and slavery to sin. Romans 6:17-18

1.The Problems with the Golden Calf.
a)The Israelites were doing what they were comfortable and familiar doing, instead of trusting in their new relationship with God. “Renewing your mind...” - Romans 12:2, “Friendship with the world...” James 4:4

b)The Israelites were trying to amend God's required worship of Him and add worshiping idol gods. “Serve two masters...” Matthew 6:24 “House divided...” Mark 3:25 “Fresh Water/Salt Water Spring...” James 3:9-12 “Circumcised to be saved...” Acts 15:1-2,5-11

c)Aaron wasn't ministering to the people by telling them what he heard from God(through Moses) but he was simply giving the people what they wanted. Warn the class against the dangers of a church pressuring the Pastor to cater the message to “what they are familiar with and accustomed to.”

2. Show how Moses represents foreshadowing of Christ interceding for us. Romans 8:34
a)Christ's life being threatened as a babe
b)Christ becoming a common man to do God's will
c)Christ bring the message of the Gospel(abolish of the slavery of sin) being rejected.
d)Christ being our intermediary making peace between man and God.

Scriptures

Mark 3:25 - 25If a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand.

Acts 15:1-2,5-11
The Council at Jerusalem
1Some men came down from Judea to Antioch and were teaching the brothers: "Unless you are circumcised, according to the custom taught by Moses, you cannot be saved." 2This brought Paul and Barnabas into sharp dispute and debate with them. So Paul and Barnabas were appointed, along with some other believers, to go up to Jerusalem to see the apostles and elders about this question.

5Then some of the believers who belonged to the party of the Pharisees stood up and said, "The Gentiles must be circumcised and required to obey the law of Moses."
6The apostles and elders met to consider this question. 7After much discussion, Peter got up and addressed them: "Brothers, you know that some time ago God made a choice among you that the Gentiles might hear from my lips the message of the gospel and believe. 8God, who knows the heart, showed that he accepted them by giving the Holy Spirit to them, just as he did to us. 9He made no distinction between us and them, for he purified their hearts by faith. 10Now then, why do you try to test God by putting on the necks of the disciples a yoke that neither we nor our fathers have been able to bear? 11No! We believe it is through the grace of our Lord Jesus that we are saved, just as they are."

Romans 6:17-18 - 17But thanks be to God that, though you used to be slaves to sin, you wholeheartedly obeyed the form of teaching to which you were entrusted. 18You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness.

Romans 8:34 - 34Who is he that condemns? Christ Jesus, who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.

Romans 12:2 - 2Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

James 3:9-12 - 9With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in God's likeness. 10Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers, this should not be. 11Can both fresh water and salt[a] water flow from the same spring? 12My brothers, can a fig tree bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs? Neither can a salt spring produce fresh water.

James 4:4 - 4You adulterous people, don't you know that friendship with the world is hatred toward God? Anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God.

Senses(Poem)

Words fail me to describe what I feel when I'm around you.
I scribble,
I mumble,
I over-analyze each word.
And when I think I've found the right arrangement of sounds and syllables.
You smile...
And what I thought had the hope of telling you what I was feeling is
now rendered worthless.
I'm in love with you,
A creature so wonderful,
You reduce the most evolved vocabulary to giggles, smirks and sighs.
It's at those moments,
I wish my ears were yours when I heard your voice on the phone when I
first called.
Those same ears would have heard my heart beating fast hoping you'd
answer, not be busy and could talk for a minute or two.
I wish my hands were yours at the very moment you held mine for the first time.
If my eyes were yours,
You'd have seen only what a man blessed by God with his perfect compliment saw.
My lips could be yours and tell you how soft your lips were when we
first kissed.
With my tongue you'd understand the difficulty an imperfect man has in
trying to describe his love for the perfection before him.
And in those moments we fight,
In those moments we have the hardest time understanding one another.
I'd lend you my heart and my mind.
That you might always know that I cherish you, then and all the more now.
That you might know that I think about you more than you'll ever know.
And that I still love you,
Even when my love for you is so hard to show.
Even when I tried to put my true feelings away...
I manage to think of the only words that come closest to what I'm
trying to say...
“I love you now, this and every day.”

Give Us Heart Us Free(Poem)

Let me go.

Let my mind wonder free from thoughts of you, us and anything that has to do with love.

I just want to sleep at night and not wonder how you are doing.

Or hear some song,

And the first thing on my mind is you.

I just want the cure.

The antidote that removes this poison that keeps reminding me of you again and again.

I know against you I bore immature sin,

And I believe as punishment I deserve to long for you,

To thirst for you,

To crave your nourishment,

But to what end???

Each date, each pleasant conversation with another,

Is like my parole hearing.

And the board keeps denying me my freedom.

Back to cellblock J I go.

Each pretender is nice…but a you…NO, NO, NO!!!

And just when I think you are out my system,

I become a repeat offender.

Caught up in my past glory,

No alibi,

Just another lie to myself.

Well enough alone should have just been left,

And now the budding freedom from this curse of the heart,

Has been stolen,

Better commonsense has been far from smart.

I’m serving cruel and delusional punishment.

Chocolate(POEM)

Chocolate is my temptation.
Smooth, creamy, thick and refined,
I cling to each bite as if the world's last was mine.
I love how when my touch lingers,
the warmth of the moment melts chocolate to hand,
And I have the guilty pleasure of licking my fingers.
Each sense emerges from the perpetual bland,
and bears witness to the moment,
that first nibble reaches my mouth.
Chocolate calms and soothes me,
as the warmth of my tongue guides the sweetness ever forward.

Milk Chocolate Misses(POEM)

Beautiful from head to toe,
This image in my mind,
My mind won't let go.
She's stunning and I've just seen it for the first time.
Her lips drip mahogony kisses,
She's my Milk Chocolate Misses.
I'd...
Sneak ever closer to steal glimpses,
And let my lips nibble sweet coco kisses.
As her skin,
Leaves the warmth of the sun's perfection,
On my lips for my tongue's inspection.
Together...
We'd resurrect Egyptian monuments,
And coast the Nile for 2 kilometers plus a mile.
We'd heal some past wrongs,
And find our mutual right,
when individually we seem so wrong.
Id...
Appreciate her always.

Directions - Poem

The sounds of my people are headed the wrong way,
Due...West, Kanye.
They say,
They slay,
And move metric tons of Ya,
And our kids play,
music talking about gun play.
If this Kat Stacks,
then I'm yelling “JENGA!!!”
Our people have drunk the lyrical Kool-aid,
Home-made,
Made home and how we got here into memory fade...
Playwrights write of how we've live played,
Looking forward to “Madea go(es) to Hell.”
The end...role credits...Connery by BET...Black Hole Power.

Caring past the point of no return - Poem

Mean stuff is said as camouflage.
She's behind enemy lines,
and my defenses are broken down.
I hear that all too familiar sound...
She's making my heart race.
I knew this was going to happen,
but her smile slowed me putting my ultra, super deluxe fence in place.
Now look at me...
Standing face to face,
Trying to act as if I'm still cool.
She's no fool,
and neither am I...well I'm her fool but that's the only exception.
I glance away before making eye contact,
as if surrender and conquest are far from my mind.
Just friendly,
At least one of us knows that I'm lying.
I'm dying,
To say or do anything but doing nothing is really trying.
This is what I get for spying,
For caring pass the point of no return,
Passed where interested turns to yearning.
Have I not learned anything from the past?
When it comes to putting up fences...be fast.
